We are a group of neighbors in Forest Park who are concerned by the recent proposed changes to our beloved Triangle Park.

Separate from the substantive concerns regarding the proposal, these plans were proposed without a meaningful way for community buy-in, approval and feedback. The group who commissioned these plans was not elected, nor were they given the authority to unilaterally change our park. The plans were unveiled on Sunday, November 16 at a neighborhood Friendsgiving event which many neighbors were either unaware of or didn’t attend. At the event there was an option to fill out index cards with feedback, yet there is no transparency or way to know our concerns are being taken seriously. Our understanding is that these plans are still in the conceptual phase, so we are organizing as neighbors to gather open feedback and know if this is even the type of renovation we want. We have created an avenue for all feedback and will compile it and share it publicly for transparency so we can make sure ALL voices are heard before something as precious and irreplaceable as our Triangle Park is transformed into something totally different.
